Meet Jason Wu

Jason Wu homepage imageAs a queer and biracial (Chinese/Cree) individual I remember what it was like to not be fully accepted by a community. I remember the shame that resulted from the self-criticism and self-judgment from not being able to live up to the incredibly high standards that I placed on myself in my attempts to fit into a narrative that was not authentic to myself.

If you are someone who is experiencing mental health difficulties as a result of your sexual, gender or cultural identity; or if you are now open to processing difficult experiences from the past you have come to the right place. If you choose to work with me, you will be given a safe space for your experiences to be seen and heard, which isn’t typically present in our daily lives. This will give us the opportunity to explore your issue and develop effective coping mechanisms to be able to navigate life with less stress. On top of that, we will be able to work together to process the mental health struggles that prevent you from living your best life.

Therapeutically, this is done by using a combination of acupuncture and counseling. Acupuncture is an excellent tool to help bring you back into your body and regulate your nervous system, preparing the mind to process more effectively. Counseling is used to explore and process your experiences, giving you deeper awareness about you and how you navigate the world. Together, these tools will empower you, so you don’t feel so out of control in your life.

Jason is a registered acupuncturist in good standing with the College of Acupuncturists of Alberta (CAA) and a provisional registered psychologist in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Jason has completed over 11 years of formal education studying the mind-body dynamic and over a decade of experience working with the human condition.

When not in the clinic, Jason can be seen living his best life either playing volleyball, on the patio enjoying time with friends or vibing to the music at live shows.
